Creating a Sandalwood Mala Necklace
Markham/Stouffville Women’s Wellness Circle
Friday, April 27th @ 6:50PM
Back by popular demand, we will be offering this circle again on Friday, April 27th. Yay!
Join us as we learn about mala beads and create our very own piece. A mala is simply a string of beads that are used in a meditation practice, as a reminder to pause, or to help manifest your intentions. It is a tool to help you count mantras, remind you of your intention, and acts as a tactile guide as you sit in silence or move throughout your day.
We will be creating a Sandalwood mala necklace! Deb LeBlanc will guide us in making these pieces as well as share how she uses it in her daily life and in those beautiful moments of growth, healing, serenity and meditation. She will share how a mala necklace and bracelet is constructed and meaning behind different types beads.
Please bring any beads you wish to add to the mala.
We will provide the sandalwood beads, spacer beads and thread (at an additional cost of $10).
Date: Friday, April 27th
When: 6:50PM – 9:30PM
Please arrive at 6:50PM so we can start right at 7:00PM. It is important to give ourselves enough time as there is never enough time at our “art” themed circles.
Cost: $20 per person at the door plus material costs.

Deb is an Occupational Therapist and Dementia Trainer who found meditation at the exact right moment in her life. Her love of beads of all kinds led her to making her own mala as well as custom mala for friends. She is happiest when playing with different arts, including painting, jewelry making, and playing/singing in a band.
