Re-awaken the Feminine Energy
A movement is happening. It is subtle, graceful and quiet but it is strong, steady and sustainable. This movement is honouring the essence of feminine energy. It is re-awakening from a long slumber and building upon itself. It is moving towards a balance with its masculine counterpart. We’ve been working and living in a world dominated by masculine energy that many women have forgotten how to just be in their feminine energy. A woman can feel empty, drained, competitive, vindictive, defensive, reactive and robotic. This is reflective of too much masculine energy.
We need both feminine and masculine energy to exist. They are our two life forces. We can’t have one without the other but they do need to balance each other.
- Emotional awareness
- Expression and communication of emotions
- Energy of action
- Ease of acquiring material needs
- Common sense
Working in too much masculine energy can make you sick. It is already leading you down the path of some sort of sickness that will rear its ugly head at some point. And let’s face it, most women are burning the candles at both ends. It is what is expected of us and what we expect from ourselves. The sacrifice is the feminine energy counterpart.
There is a whack load to explore about our feminine energy, why it is important and how to bring it back into our lives. I don’t profess to be an expert in this subject but I am an eternal student in seeking ways to live a more balanced life; a happier and healthier one. From what I’ve learned and experienced thus far, the most critical is understanding that by bringing our feminine energy back in balance with our masculine, we are able to begin and/or prevent future issues in health, relationships, careers and in loving ourselves more.
What does this mean for me personally? I figured out I was drowning in my masculine energy. It took a long time to figure out and while I was frantically trying to keep my head above water, my health, relationship with my husband and kids and my general state of happiness were suffering. I convinced myself that I had a life threatening disease, that I “checked out” in experiencing joy with my kids and was oh so resenting my husband. It was icky and unpleasant.
Each woman has to figure out how best to re-awaken her feminine energy. For me it meant bringing a meditation and yoga practice into my life regularly. It took a bit of time to make it a regular thing but just by scheduling self care into my calendar and honouring it, has made the difference from being a drop-in student to a practising yogi. I also started to be easier on myself and therefore on my kids and husband, hired a coach, danced more (even in my bedroom with headphones on) and really worked on being present in the moment. Especially with my kids. Especially when they want to play. Especially when those opportunities come out of the blue.
